So I use my action camera when im out on my Motorbike,
I tend to use via the watch to record, but i have since installed app to change some live settings for something else i want to use the camera for. but i have hit several issues.
Skeggle now doesn't work with no support from any other stand alone app as i don't really want live videos on FB. but i can deal with that.
When i turn my camera on, I get the message, Please upgrade your camera to the latest firmware. ive checked via the camera (and via the phone and both say "your camera firmware is up to date".
great i will stream live to facebook for time being, i select the FB logo at the top and i get "please upgrade your camera to the latest firmware".
which i have just checked
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

So this problem has been resolved with a replacment camera being sent out and doing a swap out.
Another problem has risen, but sinxe this has been resolved by @Lee_H.
Ive open up another toic relating to the new issue as i don't think the 2 are related.

Hi @zx9r_Ninja and welcome to the Community.
Ninja's are one of my fave bikes, after MSX-125's (has to be custom though 🙂 )
This sounds very unusual.
Please can I get you to factory reset the camera (do back up any data, stored on internal memory) and then do try the update once again.
Let me know how you get on.

Ninjas have always been my favorite bike, and i get the joy of commuting in weather like this.
I have actually done a factory reset before written the post, as i was reading other posts about it and someone suggest this.

@zx9r_Ninja Thanks, you are using an older version of firmware on your camera.
Sorry if this is a silly question but are you using an EE SIM card in your action cam? EE send the updates via the mobile network so the EE SIM card needs to be inserted and active in order to receive the updates.

Yes EE Sim is being used within the camera, on my phone i am using 02 (this should be irrelvent surely?)
although not sure this is relevent, when i took the contract out for the camera i was with EE and signed up to a shared plan through my phone, when my contract ended with EE i moved back to o2 since there 4g was better in my rural area.
I am still paying for my contract with EE for the camera and still have access to data as i use the camera to play music to my bluetooth headset and i can browse the internet when connected to the wireless.
When signing into My EE it only shows data, i don't have access to calls or texts (https://www.dropbox.com/s/0fsl2a2i3p0u850/EE.jpg?dl=0)
would this cause the camera not to update

@zx9r_Ninja Everything should be working then as the camera still has an EE mobile data connection.
One last thing I will suggest if you havn't already done this, is to remove the SIM card, give it a quick wipe and then re-insert it (it is a fiddly job to get the SIM card out of the action cam as you may need to use a small pin to carefully lever the SIM card out. Apple iPhone SIM removal tools are good for this)
Then try the update again, but try it directly from the cam.
If that still doesn't work, the only other thing I can suggest is you take it to an EE store and ask them to have a look at it.
