turning off parental lock (and other woes)

I've just logged into my account using my MBP (tethered to my phone) and I am trying to turn off parental controls, but I can't see where under 'manage my device' , because the option doesn't appear to exist. 

 

The other problem is that my phone still isn't listed under 'my devices' only my iPad, into which I have inserted a sim that I cannot register because I have lost the number (and I can't use iMessage to text 150 without data). 

 

(Please note that I have no issues topping up my phone, it just isn't listed but, when I attempt to enter the number it says it's already registered, so it must be in the system somewhere). 

 

I'm beginning to regret ever having anything to do with EE, been nothing but problems from the get go. I've a PAYM SIM that my mother registered on her account that I want to put into my phone, but I am loathe to do so because that could likely cause me further problems. I went with EE because I'm autistic and I thought that you were meant to be the network for disabled people. Beginning to wonder now...

 

A response from an EE staffer would be appreciated.

Hi @AtheneNoctua 

 

Try logging into your MyEE app then - Settings - Content Lock - change this to off. Then restart your device.

 

Or log into your online account for the SIM.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 07953 966 250 from any other phone.

EE standard opening hours are 8am to 9pm weekday, 8am to 8pm on weekends.

Those suggested settings are not present in MyEE for PAYG. You'll need to call CS with a credit card handy to prove you are over 18. They will take a refundable token payment from it before removing your Content Lock.

 

I'm not a "staffer" but an ordinary user like you. Believe me!

If you give our Pay as you go Care team a call, they will help you get your content lock removed and get your new number registered to your My EE account, they can also let you know what the number is 🙂

Did you switch your phone from contract to PAYG? Is your iPad on contract? You can't mix them under 1 MyEE.

 

You need to call CS to delete your phone's old contract MyEE a/c & then you can set up your new PAYG MyEE a/c afresh, using the same email addy if desired.

 

To find out your no. text NUMBER to 150. You don't need data for it.
