Why does my tethering disconnect when I'm trying to download large files?

When trying to download large files, which can be 1GB or more but sometimes less, my tethering of my iPhone 8 to my Windows 10 laptop breaks. I have to disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable to re-establish the connection, but may have to do this multiple times. This only appears to happen when downloading large or multiple files. Is EE cutting off my connection?

Hi there @MarkJWilcox

Thanks for coming here.

Does this happen every time you tether?

Do you have full signal?

Leanne.

Hi Leanne.

Thanks for the reply and sorry I haven't got back to you sooner.

I called Customer Services and they've advised me that you don't cap my data and that it may be an issue with Apple capping large quantities of data from tethering through my iPhone.

I will be in discussion with them soon and you can close this as resolved.

All the best,

Mark.
