Hi @TimRFA

Welcome to the community.

Did the download fail at any point? Did you have to re-start it?

How do you know that it was the  XBox download that used the other 4.6GB?

I'll do my best to help. 🙂

Re: Why does an 11.4gb Xbox download cost me over 16gb of EE data..?

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your response.

The Xbox was the only device connected at the time, so was definitely the cause of the data usage.

This wasn’t the first time though. I downloaded the PUBG update last month as well, and that used about 14gb for a supposedly 10.5gb update.

I’m simply wondering if the discrepancy in data amounts is due to Microsoft or EE. And whether anybody else has found the same issue.

With only 30gb data a month, losing an extra 3gb+ each time is a tough pill to swallow.

@TimRFA  I can bet your XBox  also uploading back to the Microsoft severs.

Good Morning @TimRFA.

@Chris_B's suggestion is likely to be the cause of the extra data being used, especially if the XBox was the only connected device.

The download itself will specify 11.4GB but will not take into account any background activity.

I hope this helps 🙂

Thank you for the answers guys.

Looks like it is an Xbox issue. And after using all that data to download the update on PUBG yesterday. It has then said it needs another 11.4gb update today as well.

Not bloody likely.! 🙄🤔
