VPN Issues

Hi All,

I’m looking for some help we have an office VPN which is setup on my iPhone after lots of frustration it seems the issue is EE, if I swap the sim for another network the VPN connects fine however on EE it doesn’t reach the server for both L2TP and SSL VPN’s. Unfortunately when I have called EE they don’t know what a VPN is, any ideas to get this working on EE?

Re: VPN Issues

Hi @hopeless99,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Does your VPN support devices connecting over EE's IPv6 mobile network or is it IPv4 only?

Thanks

Re: VPN Issues

Hi James,

Thank you for your reply the VPN server is IPv4 but I haven’t had issues connecting from other IPv6 networks.

To me it looks like something in EE’s IPv6 implementation is breaking the connection.

Re: VPN Issues

Hi @hopeless99,

Switching your VPN client to dualstack mode should resolve this issue.

Thanks

Re: VPN Issues

Hi James,

Brilliant, how do I do that though using the built in iOS client?

Re: VPN Issues

Hi @hopeless99,

Your VPN provider should be able to advise you on what changes you need to make to get it up and running on your iPhone.

Thanks

Re: VPN Issues

Hi @hopeless99,

I believe that dualstack mode needs to enabled at the server end.

The provider of your VPN software should be able to help you with this.

Thanks

James
