Use unlimited phone sim on a modem

I'm looking at all the networks in order to purchase an unlimited sim for my backup home broadband on a 4G modem.

EE seems to differentiate between tablet and phone sims. Is there a reason why I couldnt use a phone sim (which I know works as I've already tested) rather than their tablet sim?

Hi @davidjac

Welcome to the community. 🙂

The difference is more in the plans. The phone plans come with minutes and texts, whereas the tablet SIMs don't.

A phone SIM would work in a tablet/mobile broadband device, but you wouldn't get the use of the minutes and texts.

You might be able to make use of your texts. Most mobile BB routers do MMS.
