This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be reached

Had HTC10 for 7 months and despite having 4G/H connection I repeatedly get "This site can't be reached" errors when trying to access websites

Full error:

This site can't be reached

Websitename.com's server DNS address could not be found.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

Have already had a new SIM and this hasn't solved the problem - any ideas??

Hello @Whitney142

Welcome to the Community! Smiley Happy

It sounds like you could have an issue with the APN on your phone.

If you go to Settings > Mobile Data > Access Point Names > Options > Add a new APN

Once there input this info;

Name Internet

APN everywhere

Proxy Leave Blank

Port Leave Blank

Username Leave Blank

Password Leave Blank

Server Leave Blank

MMSC http://mms/

MMS Proxy 149.254.201.135

MMS Port 8080

MCC 234

MNC 30

Authentication Type PAP

APN Type If you have choices select internet + mms otherwise type in *

Tap Save and then test one of the sites you have issues accessing.

Pop back and let me know how you get on!

Thanks - Karen. Smiley Happy

Re: This site can't be reached - DNS address could not be reached

hi

I'm having the same issue on a HTC10.  If I turn data off for 20 seconds and then back on it often clears.

I've tried changing the APN settings and that has made no difference.  Any other ideas?

Thanks

Alex
