I went to carphone warehouse on saturday and set up a contract with EE for the iphone 7, and requested for my number to be transferred over to my new phone as I'm currently with giffgaff but nothing has happened. I have tried turning both phones on and off several times, gone into settings and updated the number manually and restored the network settings but nothing is working. Does anyone have any ideas?

This user forum can have no access to your a/c. You need to chase it up with EE.

Did you login to giffgaff then request a pac? If so, when did you give that to EE?
