I'm a member of the Tolkien Society and want to be able to use their website... https://www.tolkiensociety.org/ Unfortunately I can't reach it through the EE network for some reason... works fine from my office's wifi, and using other connections. Can someone check if this website is blocked by EE, or - if it's not - suggest why it seems to be inaccessible from my phone? I've tried multiple browsers - tried connecting my laptop to my phone's wifi hotspot... the only thing that works is using a VPN, but I'd like to understand what's going on, as it seems a bit odd... and it's the only site I have any trouble with. I've asked their web admin and they don't understand what's going on either- and they'd also like to understand what the problem is.

Welcome to the Community,
I just tested the url in question and it works from my home connection but not over the network I would recommend speaking to technical support in the morning call 0800 956 3146 from 8AM from a landline if you can as additional testing might be required.

Could it be your Switching Content Lock OFF or ON ?

Thank you - my content blocking was already switched to OFF though, so that isn't the problem... Cheers, John

I checked this and I found that I cannot access the Tolkien site by EE 4g, but I can access it if I switch to WiFi (Virgin Mobile).
This seems to be very similar to the problem I am currently having with https://www.qustodio.com/ , which is under discussion elsewhere in the community.
Did you ask tech support? What did they say?

Looks to be the usual issue of EE and IPv6 and not allowing browser fallback to IPv4.
I haven't managed to work out if this is EE's fault or not. When I'm on my home ISP, with IPv6 I do get broswer fallback, on EE I don't.
The web site owner should really either fully support IPv6 or not have a AAAA DNS record though.

Thank you Chistery. I am not tech-savvy for telecoms stuff, but your reply will be helpful when I contact the EE tech support people again.
In my case the Qustodio App fails (as well as the website), and that is the major problem for me.
Qustodio seems to work fine if I use ASDA mobile. This is strange because ASDA uses the EE 4G network.

I found a setting in my phone where I could change from "IPv6/IPv4" to "IPv4". It now seems to access the Qustodio websites correctly, and the app works!
On the Motorola E4 (Android 7.1.1) I went to settings/more/Mobile_networks/Access_point_names/Internet/APN_protocol/
There I found a choice:
IPv4/IPv6 (the default)
I selected IPv4
Thank you all for your helpful comments.

I should add that this change (to IPv4 on my phone) also enables me to access
https://www.tolkiensociety.org/ which was the subject of this community discussion
I coul dnot access the site before, and now I can.

Thanks for confirming @RML54. Depending on the phone though, it may not be possible to do this. Fruit based devices don't have an easy way to change it. Hopefully EE are trying to find a proper solution though.
