@Maggie82 Wi-Fi has nothing to do with your EE cellular connection.
Have you had a look at THIS ?
Are you contact or payg ?
Have you tried restarting the device?
What device is it ?

My phone just keeps saying searching. I've turned the phone on and off, reset my network settings and it still says searching what can I do?

@Maggie82 Can you try a different SIM card in your device as your sim might be faulty and so needs replacing.

I did yes and is says there's a problem in my area but when I go to work which isn't near where I live it still says searching, and my phones been like this since Thursday afternoon

Have you checked the postcode for your work area too, @Maggie82?
I recommend, next time you're out of the area that's having the problem, turning your phone off and back on again, to re-start the searching process.
This may help re-store the service on your phone.

@Maggie82 Can you try a different SIM card in the device as you might ha be a faulty SIM card. You can get a £1 PAYG SIM card from a supermarket to test with.
