@judith448   Have you had a look at THIS to see if there is a network issue in your area ?

It's an iphone 5S

@judith448  Can go to settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Setting.  The device will shut down and reboot on its own and you’ll also need to put your WiFi passwords back on the device after this.   You are performing a full network reset on the device and hopefully this will fix issue this for you.

No it hasn’t. Any other suggestions? I’m going on holiday tomorrow but at least WiFi is working.

That's cuz WiFi has nowt to do with EE's mobile network.
