I got a Galaxy S7 recently and have only just used 3g on it outdoors which I thought worked fine which it does for generic websites such as bbc.co.uk / tripadvisor etc however if you try and search for anything then it says there is no internet connection. All other apps work fine in general.
However if I go through a VPN then I can access google and yahoo straight away
Any ideas what could be causing this?

I contact the ee technical support about the similar issue as you, and after doing lots of steps, nothing works.
But after I used the dialog test and run few tests, show that there's some issue connecting to the IPv6, and IPv4 is ok, I think that why some website work and some don't, cause some of them use IPv6
You can try go to the setting , apn setting, eeinternet, and switch APN protocol to IPv4, that should work. Tell me if it did~
