Gifting data

Hi I can’t figure out how to gift my daughter some. Data.. help please 🤓

@Magsywagsy1 so firstly can I take it that you've got your daughter's EE number on your pay monthly EE account? This needs to be the case. I'll post you links in my next message that has EE Family Account and Data Gifting info and videos.

@Magsywagsy1 info about data gifting below. Did you set up a family account on your MyEE so that you can gift data to whomever you want? There's a lot to it all. See both links below. Info and vids in both. Good look!

Have you been able to gift data to your daughter following the links provided?

 

If not do you have the below option to gift data;

 

  • Open the MY EE app
  • Select Family Usage
  • Choose who needs data
  • Choose who’s gifting
  • Choose the amount
  • Send the Data Gift

Hi again, I’m still confused, do I need to buy additional phones ? Or can I add my daughters EE pay as you go phone number which is EE? X

Sorry data gifting is for pay monthly accounts.

 

You would both need to be on pay monthly and be on the same account.

 

This will not work for a pay as you go account with us.

@Magsywagsy1   All devices need to be on the same account.  All devices have to be on contract that could be a sim only contract or a full contract.  Unfortunately data gifting is not available to PAYG customers even if all the devices are on the same account so if you move your daughters device to your account you still wouldn’t be able to gift data to her as your not on contract and nor is your daughter.

I have 2 numbers on my EE account - 1 with 20GB and the other with 3GB. I am trying to gift some from the first to the second but I can get no response. It says that both accounts are below 500MB. Am I missing something?

Welcome to the community.

 

Have you tried logging out of your account, then back in to see if you can gift data?

 

If you're still having trouble, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team so they can look into your account.

How does this get stamped "solved"? I feel like I'm in an episode of the IT Crowd. This is the fourth occasion I have not been able to gift data because I get the message that I can't because none of the accounts has 500MB left, when one has 3G and the other has 20G. Is there no explanation or solution other than phoning customer service?

Hi @BorisBadenov.

 

If you're unable to gift data online, the only way to resolve it would be to contact our Tech care team.

 

They would be able to manually do the gift for you, and look into why it's not working.

So there is nothing I can do because they aren't answering phones!? I was told to text "Help" to 150, and all I got back was a useless bunch of information. I am, trying to keep in contact with my children.
