EE Router issues

We have an EE Router which we run off a simcard.

Every day or so it will disconnect and only the power light will be lit and we have to restart it, how do we stop this so it is on 24/7 or restarts overnight not in the middle of the day?

The 'network' light went red earlier and now is green (usually blue) and is giving us 1mbs download instead of the usual 20mbs.

HELP!! Thanks

Josh

Re: EE Router issues

Hi @joshhollands

Welcome to the community. 🙂

Which model 4GEE WiFi device is it? You can see the range of devices on our device help page (using the 4GEE WiFi filter will help).

Re: EE Router issues

Brilliant, thanks @joshhollands. 🙂

Please try the hard reset instructions below:-

  1. While your router is turned on, press the reset button and hold it pressed for about 30 seconds.
  2. Still holding the reset button pressed, unplug the the router and hold the reset button for 30 more seconds.
  3. Still holding the reset button down, turn on the power to the router again and hold for 30 more seconds.

Please let me know if the issue re-occurs after this.

Thanks

Re: EE Router issues

Hi, I'm back!

This fix worked for a couple of days but then again on Thursday it had turned itself off and again over the weekend?

Re: EE Router issues

Hi @joshhollands,

As the Osprey is designed for mobile use, it will automatically power off when it's been idle for a while to conserve battery life.

If you are looking for an 'always on' connection the 4GEE Router may be a better option for you.

Thanks

Re: EE Router issues

Hi @joshhollands,

Great, you shouldn't be having this issue with that model.

Does the network status checker show any problems in your area?

Thanks
