Difference between fastest 4G and 60Mbps?

I am currently choosing an upgrade plan and am deciding between the 4GEE max plan and 4GEE plan. One of the differences is the max plan has fastest 4G and the 4GEE plan comes with 60Mbps. I just wondered what the difference is and whether it is a huge difference?

I currently have the EURO PASS add on in my plan, however would I still need this with my upgrade as EU data is included in the max plan?

Thanks

Re: Difference between fastest 4G and 60Mbps?

Hi @Lisa_D

The 60mb plan means the highest speed you'll get is 60mb which is faster than most home broadband connections.

Max speed is the highest speed ee do in that area.  It will vary from town to town.

Thanks,
Martyn

Re: Difference between fastest 4G and 60Mbps?

just a note.  the max plan allows you to use upto 15GB (if you have it in your plan) in europe.  If you don't choose a max plan, you'll get 500mb to use in europe.

Just a point to note, when data roaming charges in europe ends in June, you should be able to use your data allowance in the EU anyway.

Thanks,
Martyn

Re: Difference between fastest 4G and 60Mbps?

Is this still the case ?

I've just 'upgraded' my MAX plan to a ordinary (essentials) plan (extra data) and was told that the speed would still be the same, as was.

@Cedrik No its not that same as the max plan will get the fastest speed pssable and the plan your on now has a max of 60Mb,  if you would like as faster speed you can purchase a add on called GO FASTER and you can read nore about it HERE

@Chris_B

Cheers for that. Apparently, the new plan will start on my refresh date and as I am still currently on the MAX plan, I can't do that currently  (?). Out of interest, how much is the add on ? It sounds like what I was told may not be the case, it seems.

EE staff training isn’t the best , esp on new products let alone old ones. You will lose 5 non EU country roaming (US, AU, NZ, Canada & Mexico) moving off Max as these have been removed from sim only plans.

Go Faster is £2 a month on your new sim only plan. The sim only plans aren’t grouped as Max/Essential etc any more - they are all the same SIM plan with different U.K./EU (for now) plan allowances.

Re: Difference between fastest 4G and 60Mbps?

@JayDal its 14 days if the upgrade was done via Internet or phone as your billing date will remain the same and that could be more than the 14 days or even less then that,   its not the day before your billing date at all.

@JayDal

Cheers for the extra info. the roaming thing isn't an issue for me.

However, I was told (rather categorically !) there wouldn't be a speed difference, but it's not the end of the world, as I went from 15 Gig (per month) to 40 Gig for just a couple of quid extra.

Reversal can be done up to billing date - what you talk of is new sim/handset or upgrade 14 days to cancel another 14 to return at cost as per Consumer Rights Act.

This is is a plan change not a upgrade thank you.

Yeah still crap you get incorrect info on basic bread & butter stuff, people upgrade things for new minimum terms based on incorrect info.

Re: Difference between fastest 4G and 60Mbps?

Hi @Cedrik and welcome to the community.

Our current SIM plans will get speeds of up to 60mbps.

4GEE speeds vary depending on your location & the number of users.

Many thanks,

Lee

Re: Difference between fastest 4G and 60Mbps?

So, reading the 'EE SIM PLAN TERMS AND PRICE GUIDE', the 'go faster' add on is £2 a month and can be added or stopped at any time. Doesn't seem too unreasonable.

Every little hElps.

I wouldn’t pay as I’m rarely above 40mbps (even on the Max sim), but if you have consistent high speed access at 60 then why not. Trial it a month and cancel it if speeds aren’t great.

My 8/4mbps 4G speeds in a major city - I doubt £2 extra is going to help me haha

voda 3G x 4 the speed of EE 4G!

Re: Difference between fastest 4G and 60Mbps?

@JayDal  Read the first line in the first post.   And just to inform you can not change pla/tariff while in contract you can change plan if your upgrading.

  Thanks
