Data

I have a shared plan with wife and daughter. My daughter has been using too much data so I blocked data usage for her device however it did not work and allowed her to continue until data ran out. EE were good and gave me some free data but they said they don't know why this is not working so I still have same problem every month any info on this problem and if EE have a fix would be helpful thanks

Unfortunately apart from turning data off on her device you can't block how much data your daughter uses.

 

You can block her from being able to buy any additional bundles once all the data has been used.

 

What device is she using? I've just set up restrictions on my sons iPhone to stop him using certain things, unless the phone is connected to WiFi.

That's just it I blocked her data and it didn't work EE kindly gave me some free data due to this not working but they have not resolved the problem and when my data is nearly used I can't restrict her use of data because of the fault with EE. I don't have access to her phone

It's not a fault, we don't have a process in place to block data.

 

You could request a bar to be placed on her number but this would block everything including calls and texts.

 

The only block we have available is to stop additional data bundles being purchased.

@Jamie432  How did you try and block the data ?   As this can not be done via the network but only the device.

Yes you do its an option on My EE you get the option on each number on
shared plan to block data purchase data use abroad and to block data use
when I checked the block data on her number it didn't work EE technical
said it should work but didn't know why it didn't work and had no idea when
it would work
