DNS Problem

I am currently unable to access any servers at the braddonsnow.co.uk when using the EE 4G network.  www.braddonsnow.co.uk does not work and neither does my connections to mail.braddonsnow.co.uk (whioh is a different server).

The IP address for the Nameserver changed about 10 days ago and should have propogated by now but something appears to be blocking the DNS lookup that my phone is attempting.

Can anyone confirm that they can also not access the site and if so can someone from EE please investigate.

Re: DNS Problem

It works fine on my EE 4G connection.

Re: DNS Problem

Saying that, it could be Chrome doing something. I can't resolve your URL via DNS on EE, I get SERVFAIL.

Thanks for checking.

Hopefully someone from EE will pick this up and investigate.

Re: DNS Problem

Hi @alexsnow and welcome to the Community.

I have checked several handsets in the office and they are all able to connect.

I have used various browsers to test this.

Can I get you to pop your device down to a 3G only signal and see if that allows you to connect.

Many thanks,

Re: DNS Problem

@Lee_H, have you tried an incognito browser or one that will not proxy http requests and avoid EEs DNS?

Re: DNS Problem

Hi @chistery

I've just tried incognito and it has not worked.

This is very strange.

Many thanks,

Re: DNS Problem

The SERVFAIL error does usually suggest it's a problem with the authorititive DNS for that domain, and not EE though.

I'd get your hosting company to look into it as well.

Re: DNS Problem

Hi Lee,

Are you able to escalate this to someone in technical support?  I've checked my DNS records using http://simpledns.com/lookup-dg.aspx and also https://intodns.com/braddonsnow.co.uk and there are no issues.

Furthermore other domains that use the same nameservers can be found via EE 4G!

I therefore suspect this is an issue with the DNS server not clearing it's cache of old records that have expired.
