Hope someone one can answer this. It's certainly not clear on the EE website.
Can I add additional data to my existing allowance as a bolt on ?

As alluded to by @Chris_B, you can add data to your plan using the page that he referred you to.
If you are going over your data each month, it may be worth looking into changing your price plan so that you get a higher allowance of data.

i would not bother i was purchasing ee internet boosters suposedly giving me 30 days internet access and t mobile were cuttting me off saying i have a data plan that starts on the 2nd every month i dont. this dont even exist and ee wont sort it out so ive now left them. this is the kind of text i would get from t mobile even a day into buying a 30 day booser from ee and then i would not be able to access the internet even though i had paid for 30 days. 3 months i tried to get it sorted ee were no help watsoever. and notice the link in the text they send me dont even work because t mobile tzones dont even exist anymore just like the account that is cutting me off dont exist

No, you wouldn't be locked into another contract period. Your plan would just change for the rest of the current contract.
