Leaving OneCom?

Years ago I used a Cardiff firm (Evolve Telecom) for a Vodafone business account on my Blackberry. This worked fine.

OneCom bought them out, and three years ago I switched to a Samsung phone and an EE Business Essentials account.

The latest contract is coming to an end. Can I deal directly with EE, and rather than renew through OneCom, maybe switch to a SIM only personal account?

Any advice welcome.

@TobyPh yes you can, to change to a personal account you’ll need to call customer support.

While apparently renewing my EE account through OneCom I became aware of a second number (that I was unaware of) and it seemed to be a data only SIM which I had never been alerted to, or received. Doubling the bill.

I did ask the sales rep to have that one removed, so I would just have my mobile.

On the promise that it would be removed, I signed the renewal with docusign. Only then was I told I had to sign an EE form as well. It seemed odd for a renewal, to have to set up a new Direct Debit. So I haven't signed it yet.

Does EE control the direct debit, or OneCom? As my current sole trader contract ends tomorrow, can I simply cancel the DD? Would that prevent the renewal contract coming into play?

Very frustrating.

If OneCom are acting as a billing contact/provider, then I would expect the DD to be drawn in their name and thus you are technically "their" customer, with them effectively "choosing" to use EE to supply network service.

If, on the other hand, they are purely acting as resellers, the payments will be to EE directly, and you are their customer in the same way as anyone purchasing an EE phone from another "indirect" channel.

Thus the DD details are crucial. Your reference to a new DD mandate seems to suggest new payment details having been triggered by a new billing account.
