New PAYG Sim - no credit

I bought a PAYG Sim from EE and paid £13.50. I also gave my PAC number etc to have my number ported on the 15th. Today i put the new sim in my phone and found i have zero credit and the number hasn't ported, so i sent PORT to 150 and got a message back stating that the number would be ported on the 21st. This seems like a long time to wait.

Have i done this correctly? Seems strange to have to wait so long and also to see zero credit after paying in advance.

The normal process for when a PAC is supplied with a new SIM/line order, is that the SIM is allocated a temporary number and the PAC held in a pending state until the new SIM is first activated. This avoids issues with numbers being ported before a new SIM is ready to be used.

Port-ins do not occur on weekends, only working weekdays. Thus if your PAC has been submitted today Friday 18th, your port-in has been set for the next available working weekday, Monday 21st.
