I am wanting to use a pay monthly Protected Plan eSIM for receiving login PINs from online sites and need to know if there are likely to be any issues with this?

Obviously there would be limitations on browsing, etc., but I would not be needing the SIM to browse, only to receive PINs and to confirm my credentials for accessing various websites (commercial and business, non-adult).

An electronic/embedded SIM is no different to a physical SIM, for the purposes you describe.

Both allow receipt of text messages.

Thanks, - both replies helpful; but ultimately not an option because EE makes it clear (later on in the checkout process) that a second eSIM will wipe-out / override / replace my main eSIM, regardless of the fact that iPhone 12s (supposedly) have the capacity for multiple eSIMs.

Further, there is no option for having the eSIM installed in the handset - it will be sent by courier (**bleep**??); so I have given up on this as a bad joke and will be buying a (considerably cheaper) eSIM from a different mobile service provider.
