Hi EE,

Just started a community account so I can publish my query on here. I have my iPhone 12 (lilac) that was given to me second hand by my father where the software itself works completely fine, however I do not have a valid network connection since the phone requires a nano sim to be inserted inside since the original SIM card does not fit with the tray. The phone may have got overheated during one of my volunteering sessions where the day was particularly warm and this may have interfered with the internal CPU of the device. Until then, my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both disabled, and have no network as the bars just appear to dance (scanning for a network.)

Not sure what your question is, but you can order a new PAYG SIM from https://ee.co.uk/mobile/free-sim or pick one up from most supermarkets & convenience stores.

New SIMs are a pop-out size which come full-size with numerous perforated lines allowing you to cut the card down to whatever size you need.

If you're an existing EE customer looking to replace your SIM, you can do so either via CS (and the SIM is posted out second-class Royal Mail) or via an EE retail store with appropriate photographic ID

Good afternoon,

I do not currently have a valid network connection (mobile data,) as the iPhone 12 lilac I have has both WiFi and Bluetooth disabled where I am not able to use my phone accordingly. Unfortunately, the back of the iPhone has been 'moderately' cracked where there is a small dent at the bottom of the phone which can get fixed if I make an appointment. On the day this happened, the weather was very warm which I did not think helped as I was volunteering at the time. The software itself works fine and nothing has happened on the front of the screen/no issues with the IMEI (operational of the device such as RAM and diskware.)

Just some kind suggestions would be helpful.

@jr_tinkplayz02 It sounds like the damage has also caused more damage then just the broken back. It’s very possible the antenna connection are also damaged.

A manual network search is an easy to prove that either way.

Welcome to the EE Community!

When you mention your SIM not fitting, is this an EE SIM?

Unless your SIM is around the 10 year old mark, this should definitely be a multi-SIM that you can break down to a smaller Nano size; Nano SIMs have been the standard in phones for a good while now.

Is it a contract or pay as you go SIM that you have, too?
