Hi there,

I have tried to find an answer to my question but no luck. Let's say I have an EE contract part way through it's term, I want to keep this contract but change my number. The number I want to use is pre existing.

My question is, can I use a pac code on a contract part way through to change the number of that contract. Or can this only be done at the time when you first take out a contract?

Yes you can port a number onto a contract at any time.

The number that is currently on the contract will be replaced and you would be unable to get it back.

You can port a number in by texting PORT to 150 from your EE SIM. This will then ask for the number you want to port in, followed by the PAC Code.

Just bear in mind that a PAC is for porting numbers between networks, not within the same operator.

Ah I see, Would there be a way to acheive this with if they were both with ee?

If it is an active EE Pay As You Go number, you can call EE Customer Services and they can facilitate moving the PAYG Number on top of the contract.

If it is a separate EE Pay Monthly number, it would have to be dropped to Pay As You Go first by giving 30 days notice, and then after this has transferred to PAYG you would need to call up again to transfer it on top of the contract.

Ok I think I got it. this would presumably be the same for a number thats out of contract then?

Yes the same notice period would apply regardless of contract status, there will just be no early termination charges if it is out of contract.
