Switching old number to ee

Need advice switched my old number to ee. When I phone my old number appears but when I text the ee number appears. Any advice?

Hope you’re doing well.

Just so I understand correctly, you’ve ported in your old number on your new EE contract however when you go to send a text message, the number showing to others is the temporary EE number that you replaced with your own?

If so, this is likely to do with your phone itself rather than the number port. Is this happening with iMessage (via iPhone) or RCS messages via Android?

Text NUMBER to 150, do you get the expected response?

I concur with the suggestion this is likely to be an RCS/iMessage issue, but the 150 text test would confirm.

It could be the RCS messaging as @bristolian and @_MrR_ mentioned.

Which model of phone are you using @Marg19?

Can you try to text NUMBER to 150 and see if the text that comes back gives the right number?
