On the contrary, if I as a customer come in with a question they should at least know where to direct me to solve my problem. Solving it - no; having no idea what to do about it (except the catch all - phone home) - also no.

I have a sole ee account and my partner has a sole ee account. one of my phones is on her account (and is out of contract) but I want it to be on my account. if I get a porting code (i.e. get her to get me a porting code), can i then use this code to move the phone onto my account (with a new sim-only plan). otherwise I'll have to use the code to move it to another supplier.

Thanks

A PAC is for porting between networks, not within the same network.

What you want to do can be achieved by a legal change of ownership. Just do the change of payment plan onto your chosen new plan before the transfer of ownership, else you might get caught by the standard 6month lockout.

"Transfer to a friend, colleague or family member" under https://ee.co.uk/help/profile/manage/change-my-account-in-the-case-of-a-life-event

Thanks, but i have found that it's impossible to make contact with the ee support network, unless i make moves to leave ee. then they are all over me. so, porting to a new supplier it must be. cheers

The standard CS numbers apply. There'd be a few more posts on this board if CS were closed, I rather suspect!

Good luck whatever you decide.

Problem solved. In this case the ee support staff were remarkable quick in replying to a 150 call re number transfer. Thanks to you i found out that this existed - the ee shop staff volunteered no such info ! I now have all i need from ee and will stay until one of the phone lines runs out of contract. then will be time to reassess. Cheers.

One would not expect a shop to know about life events like change of legal ownership 😉. They are there to sell on the day.
