topic Change to Lebara SIM in SIM cards & Porting

I am trying to set up a Samsung A266 Galaxy phone for a friend and he wants to use his Lebara SIM.

I tried the SIM which will work fine on my phone but wont work in the Samsung. It gives a Network Unavailable Message.

By process of elimination I have tried several SIMs and the EE one works fine so Im guessing that the phone is somehow locked to EE despite it having Vodafone bloatware all over it. I first tried to unlock it with Vodafone (before discovering that the EE SIM works) and was told it is already unlocked.

I went to the EE website and used their online unlock via imei code and that reported it is unlocked.

Lebara didnt have a clue and suggested I try SAMSUNG tech support which was a complete waste of time.

HELP someone...Please

Hi @Firkin2 I can imagine it's frustrating it's frustrating for your friend when he just wants to get the phone working.

If our website is stating that the phone is already unlocked, we'd need to get a guide to get it looked into a bit deeper for you.

To speak to one of our guides, you'd just need to dial 150 from an EE phone, or 07953 966 150 from any other phone.

You can find a link to our contact us page here
