Hi,

I am travelling and EE have cancelled the roam further add on. If I buy an o2 esim can I transfer the number whilst still roaming?

No, you must be connected to the new provider's home UK network whilst your number is ported. Also applies to the activation of an eSIM.

Your best bet is to purchase a local sim

@Citychick You need to speak with o2 about that as It’s their network you’re wanting to use and that has nothing to do with EE, What will happen though you’ll be billed the remainder of the EE contract term should you port your number out.

Whilst this is normally true of EE, you'd have to ask O2 what their requirements are for activation of new SIMs.

Otherwise it's a little like asking Tesco, what Sainsbury's refund policy is.

A local SIM will come with a local number issued by a local provider.
