How to keep my EE number if I take out a new EE contract from another provider?

Please can I ask the best way to keep my current EE number if I take out a new EE contract from another provider?

I want to take out a new EE contract from a 3rd party provider as their prices are much more competitive than renewing directly with EE.

There is loads of conflicting information on how best to do this and EE customer services are unable to provide any definitive answer. Could I do this by:

Using a PAC code?
Porting my number to a new EE PAYG account and then porting it again to a new EE contract from another provider?
Porting my number to a different network and then porting it again to a new EE contract from another provider?

I would be really grateful if anybody could give me any advice.

Can't this 3rd-party provider offer Upgrades? That would keep your no.

PACs can only between diff networks, not EE to EE.

@brucey101 You’ll need to port it to a different network and then port it back.

after you migrate it back to EE you’ll need to request that EE delete your email from the systems as when you setup the new account it will bring up the old now closed account. Or you just use a different email address for the new account.

New contracts come with new numbers as a matter of course.

Upgrades retain an existing number as a matter of course.

Check the details of the deals you're being offered.
