Why does my replacement SIM show my phone number as 00000000000 ?

I've recently replaced my phone, which required a replacement SIM as my old SIM was too big. It all appears to work fine, except I've noticed my phone number is now shown as 00000000000 in Settings/About Phone under both Phone Number and SIM details. Does this matter as everything appears to work Ok ?

Hi @PaulM47

If this is not impacting your service this will not be a problem. The number should update soon after using the SIM on the EE network.

If you do experience any issues please call us on 150 and the team can reset the network settings at our end for you to see if this updates the number 🙂

I'm having the same problem, I recently got my replacement sim and it turns out to be all zeros instead of my original number. Do you mind sharing on how did you resolve the issue?

Hi, it didn't cause any problems, but I think I contacted EE and they
updated the SIM.

Hi,

I tried going to EE shop and also called 150 but to no avail. My number shows as 0000000000 under NETWORK & INTERNET - SIMS - EE

One of my banking app needs this filled in with my number as security.

Any help is much appreciated.

I have reset the network settings, still no joy. I visited the EE store on 25/08/2026 and changed from an eSIM to a physical SIM. I also called 150 and spoke to a technical advisor and still no luck.

My number still shows as 0000000000.

What else can I or you help with?

I have solved it and I wanted to ensure others facing this in the future will know what to do.

I removed the SIM and put it on a spare Android phone I had (and old Xiomi). I edited the number in it's settings and also changed the name if the SIM.

Before inserting back to my GP 11 Pro XL, I reset to network settings. Inserted the SIM and it worked.

Hi. I've contacted you and still no solution. New physical SIM still shows all the zeros just as my email did. It's irritating as when there are apps where auto populating mobile number is an option I can tap my O2 esim number fine (my work number) but with EE I have to type it in every time. Surely this is a basic issue to fix? Never had this before with other networks

When you called Customer Service about this, did they send a SIM/Network update refresh to your device?
