    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I recently got my final bill from the contract. I have contacted EE customer service about moving from contract to pay as you go and was reassured 3 times that the move would happen automatically. However I did not receive any confirmation that in fact this is true. I am currently abroad and EE network never worked in this country for me (Japan), I have no signal, so cant get or send any messages.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Your 'live chat' via app doesn't work so I cannot contact any of the representative.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It was important for me to keep the number, for when I am back in UK. Where can I check if my phone number still belongs to me?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Welcome to the community,&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Did you mention you were abroad when contacting customer service?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Your SIM card needs to first be activated in the UK when changing from contract to pay as you go, so it will not work otherwise.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Have you checked your junk.spam folder?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Just remember if you do not activate and use your number it would eventually be disconnected.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The only way to get it activated is to have someone in the UK to activate it, make a chargeable call or text for it to work, either by requesting a replacement SIM card or sending the one you have back to the UK and then back to you, once it has been activated etc.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;It has never worked in Japan cuz:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;As contract, you never activated roaming on your EE a/c.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;As PAYG, you haven't used it 1st in UK.&lt;/LI&gt;
