I was previously an EE customer in 2022, I left to go to 02 because things got too expensive , I got a PAC code and took my number with me, I’ve now left 02 to return to EE with a better deal but have been told I can’t bring my number with me again because it was previously used on the EE network. Even though I can generate a PAC with 02, EE have told me I can’t use the number, surely there is a way around this? I’ve had the same number for 15 years and moved around the networks.
thanks

Out of interest, who at EE told you that? It's nonsense.

It was just the technical support team I contacted who told me that, I’m really reluctant to give up the number I’ve had for the past 15 years, surely there is a way for me to transfer my number to their network?

I think you've probably over complicated it by mentioning EE in the first place. The only important factor is the network it's currently on. I PAC in and out all the time to get the best deals, you'll be fine.

I suspect this is the "Level 2" support team within CS, and if so - they've just excelled themselves with what should be a very basic query for anyone in telecoms-CS.

It's complete nonsense, the past history of a number is utterly irrelevant for using a PAC.
