Can I add a local SIM to my Samsung 23 ultra EE business phone

I am travelling to Hong Kong and want to be able to use my phone for calls and data.

I have been told the simplest way is to buy a local SIM and add it to my phone, but I cant see how to add that to the SIM cradle. Do I need to buy a different SIM cradle?

I would like to move my SIM to an ESIM so I can use the physical SIM slot for a local SIM in Honk Kong

If you are a pay monthly customer, you can do this in the app. Go to your profile, settings and Replace my SIM/eSIM.

Or get a local eSIM for HK?

Using your EE phone abroad is called roaming - the costs for doing so are laid out at https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs > Choose Hong Kong > Choose pay-monthly/PAYG (depending which you are) which then also includes references to add-ons which can reduce the cost.

Roaming means you use your UK number abroad, and just cover the cost of the incoming international leg of voice calls. Using a local number can certainly be cheaper for data use, and potentially for in-country calls. Anyone calling you would then be dialling a HK number not a UK number - so it pays to understand the mechanics.
