Hi all, I bought a google pixel 8a recently from EE and brought it back to Ireland. One of the features I am excited to sue is the esim capability particularly for travelling abroad. When I go to enable the esim, the phone is looking to scan a QR code from EE. I tried registering with EE.co.uk but as I dont have a UK (+44) number I can't get too far.

I'm not planning to be in the UK any time soon either to get to a physical store. Does anyone know of a workaround to solve my problem?

Thanks

Hello @mrterencemccart ,

Welcome to the community,

If you are not in the UK, then you cannot get a SIM card, let alone an ESim, as you need to be here and also for ESim, you need to be on a monthly contract and SIM cards need to first be activated in the UK and used here first.

You would still need a physical SIM card first before getting an ESim and also you would have to have a credit check first and have residency in the UK.
