Hi there. I’m wondering if anyone can help with this one. My daughter used to have a mobile device with an EE sim about 3 years ago. She has recently been on a website for something which is asking for 2 step verification which is her mobile number from this time, not her current one. As I used to pay the bill for her phone at that time I thought I had a copy of the original bill with the number on it. However I’ve searched high and low and cannot find it. Is there some way to retrieve this number with my personal details through this portal or on my EE. Tia.

Your daughter could make a call from the phone, and see what number is presented to the recipient?

This advice presumes you have paid the monthly bills for the SIM for the complete duration of the intervening 3 years, and not requested disconnection.

If you have requested cancellation in the preceeding 3 years, the number has gone.

You sure you got it right? Usually when a site asks for verification it wants to send a text code to a mobile no. that you had previously told it & it now remembers, not that it asks you to supply the no. itself.

Thanks for this response. Yes as it turns out after speaking to her eventually (you know what teenagers are like!), she had been trying to recover an email address and her old number was the way in as recovery. She has received something important to this email but cannot access it without the number. So is there a way it can be found using my account details? TIA.

Hi there @SparkyDan

If the number was cancelled this would have been recycled, I am sorry this would not be possible to reactivate to get the verification needed for the email account.

I would suggest contacting the email provider to see if there is any other way to access the emails.
