topic Switching from Vodafone in SIM cards & Porting

Hey. I purchased a new sim plan with EE on Friday afternoon. I am switching from Vodafone and provided my PAC code while buying my plan. I haven’t got my new sim yet but I received an oder confirmation email that says “Your current number will be transferred within 1 working day”. Now I’m very confused as from what I have read I need to activate my sim before my number is transferred. I am assuming that my number hasn’t been transferred yet as I have had no further contact from EE. I am also confused as to whether my SIM card is on the way if I do need it as I have heard nothing about it. How long does it normally take for a SIM card to arrive, there should be some sort of confirmation when it is sent as I have no clue if it’s even on the way. When I try to link my new plan to my account with my current number it says there was an issue so I can’t even see my details online. Any help would be appreciated.

When you first receive your new EE SIM, it will be assigned a temporary number. When you first power it up and connect to EE's network, your PAC will be submitted for porting - if this is done on a working weekday before approx 5pm, your port-in should occur the following working day. If it's done after this time or on a weekend, the PAC will be submitted the following working day and thus port-in the working day afterwards.
