Porting away from EE

Hello

First time community poster here. NB non-geek.

I would like to port away from EE to a different provider. I have tried to engage on twitter (both tweets and DMs) but no-one responds. Is it worth ringing anywhere?

I THINK I am on an 18 month contract ending 27/4, but cannot find anyone to confirm.

Am I at liberty to port my number across to another provider? WHEN can I do that, and HOW do I do that?

Welcome to the community.

You can check your contract dates in the Plan & Subscriptions section of your EE Online account. To port your number to another network, you will need to request a PAC code.

As you want to keep your number, text PAC to 65075. It will respond with your PAC & how much you will have to pay in Early Termination Fees if you are still within your min term. Give the PAC to new provider. This will have the effect of cancelling your EE contract but you may be liable to pay early termination fees. Best to do this in last few days of your contract term so you have little or no overlap.

Meanwhile, if I am on contract to 27/4, do I have to wait until that date, or can I move earlier, prob with a penalty?

The PAC is valid for 30 days, @JulieJAS1. You can use it as soon as you get it, if you want to. The remaining days of the 30 will be added to your final bill.

In you case, as 27/4 is on a w/end I would give PAC to new network on 26/4 so as port takes place on 29/4.
