How to order a Trial SIM?

I use SMARTY, but they don't provide anything except whatever my AOSP-derived OS classifies as 3G (rather non-specific, considering the myriad implementations https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3G#Overview lists) where I live. Consequently, I want to try some other providers, notably EE, but see no way to merely evaluate my ability to connect without paying.

@Roke You can also get a pay as you go Sim from most supermarkets. Yes you pay to get one as itll not be free but you’ll receive an allowance on that sim for you to use the services provided.

You have to "Just choose one of the packs below..." using 1 of the "Choose this pack" buttons before filling in the form. I've just used it OK.

No, @Leanne_T, because that would necessitate that I pay, whereas I want to merely evaluate the SIM's ability to connect to its network.

No, you don't have to pay anything to get a free SIM. You are just choosing the pack it is to be primed with should you ever choose to top it up. That will enable you to evaluate the type of network connection it makes altho' you won't be able to avail yourself of any network services other than sending free service texts to 150.

Actually, @XRaySpeX, I'm able to use 4G (LTE and LTE+) with it, but considering that I haven't paid anything, I have no idea why I'm able to nor how much I'm able or allowed to use. Can you explain this?

Hi @Roke,

Your new SIM will have a small amount of data (50MB) available to use to help you get set up before purchasing a pack.
