My sim card has randomly stopped working, its in my phone and has been for years but it decided to stop working yesterday, since then Ive ordered a new sim card which will give me a new phone number. However, I cannot cancel the monthly subscription I'm paying to the old sim card because it doesn't work so I cant text 150. And i cant ring Customer support because the sim card doesnt work

That's cuz you didn't order a replacement SIM with the same no., rather than a brand new SIM.
