EE SIMs come activated with a temporary number. That temporary number gets replaced when your number ports in from another network.

I'm currently an O2 Business customer using an e-SIM in my iPhone. (The physical SIM port is also in use for my personal number with yet another network.)

I'm in the process of moving to an EE e-SIM and have received my PAC code from O2.

I'm not clear on what I should do in which order to move to EE.

Should I not add my EE e-SIM until the O2 e-SIM has stopped working? And what triggers the number porting to begin? (I always assumed that was initially connecting and registering the SIM card on the new operator's network in the days of physical SIM cards, but could be wrong).

Would appreciate any guidance!

Chris

It does look like my iPhone (12 Pro Max) supports multiple e-SIM plans but only one can be active at a time.

So I'm guessing:

add the EE e-SIM and make sure that's fully activated.

switch back to the O2 e-SIM until it stops working.

switch back to the EE e-SIM and confirm number is ported when O2 stops working.

delete O2 e-SIM plan.

That sound about right?

Chris

Hi @cpwood

When you activate the EE eSIM, you'll be given a temporary number. Then you can use your PAC to port your number from O2 to EE, which ends your O2 service.
