No, PACs are only for porting between networks, not within networks.

If you want a really long-winded way w/out calling anybody do as follows:

Port your existing no. to another network's PAYG SIM using a PAC from EE, buy an EE PAYG SIM & then in reverse port your no. back to the EE PAYG SIM using a PAC from the other network. The other network may require you to wait for a period before you may port out.

I didn't know about the 3g switch off until I tried to buy a data pack for my PAYG SIM earlier this month and was told I couldn't. My phone is 4g compatible so I assume it's a new SIM I need.

Due to my disability, I can't do phone calls or make it to an EE store to find out how to get a replacement. Can I do this online? I just want a new PAYG SIM I can transfer my current EE number to.

You can buy a new Pay As You Go SIM online but you'll need to call CS to transfer your existing no. to it.

Unless your SIM is still Orange-branded, it should be quite capable of supporting EE's 4G services if you change your plan.

No, it's EE 3G PAYG, which was transmuted from Orange PAYG. It won't be 4G compatible.

Thanks for the reply. Is there really no way to do it with PAC codes like if I was switching from a different provider? Or at least online?
