SIM change (when abroad)

There seem to be a few old threads touching the subject of swapping SIM to a "newer" one (such as in the case when you can't actually cut it down to nano and it is safer to just get a new nano-format one, while keeping the number), and one post from 2020 even referenced a link to some page to order a new SIM, but it is unclear what would be the solution if you need to change SIM while living abroad. Does anybody know?

For instance, could I do that in the Magenta office in Europe, or would I have to travel back to the UK, find an EE store, and do that there?

Thanks for coming here.

To get a replacement SIM card, you would need to either visit an EE Store in the UK or request a SIM to be posted to the registered UK address.

Just to add to what @Leanne_T , has written, if you have it posted to your registered UK address, you will need to make sure that it has been activated here first and is working ok, otherwise if someone sends it to you from your registered address in the UK, you could end up with it not working abroad.
