Hi, I have a similar problem on my 6 year old S8. I received a 16 digit SIM network PIN from EE but unfortunately I had already had 3 tries at the code and it now says I need a SIM network PUK code. I had inserted a Three sim and the prompts came up after I powered up the phone with that sim in place. The SIM itself is not locked as it still works fine in another phone. So it looks like I need a network PUK code from EE.

I hope that someone can help, EE messaging apparently is not working just now.

Hi,

Searching through other messages on here, I found a solution which worked!

I can't find the message now, but here's how the story went:-

I logged into EE website and searched for how to get a network unlock pin and the result came through online by requesting that it be sent to my email for me to do later. I had tried the link to do it now but that just took me round in circles!

Anyway it gave me a 16 digit number but little clue as to how to use it.

Powering up the locked phone with a Three SIM inserted, it had asked me for the SIM network pin but, because I didn't realise what that meant, I had entered wrong codes three times, so it then said that I needed to enter the SIM network PUK code, which I could not find help with on the EE help section.

Then I saw the Community message which explained that, despite it being a 16 digit code number, it is actually two sets of 8 numbers. I entered the last 8 digits when prompted for the SIM network PUK and, although it said it was unsuccessful, the prompt changed to one asking for the SIM network PIN. I then entered the first 8 digits and was well impressed that this has now unlocked my phone and the Three SIM is working in it! Eureka!

I hope this works for you.
