I used to have a contract with EE a few years ago, but I havent used EE in quite some time, I am trying to gain access to my social media with the old EE number linked to it but I have no sim. Anyone suggest what I could do? If I phone the number it goes to voicemail and also it allows text messages to go to it. Would I be able to order a replacement sim?

Hi @noodlelawd,

If you no longer have a contract with EE and you didn’t port it across to your new mobile provider, did you use it as PAYG?

PAYG numbers are hibernated and eventually recycled after a period of inactivity.

You could try calling CS and see if there is anything they can do, but the answer is likely no.

If not then there is nothing you can do except log in another way or contact the social media provider’s support to try and gain access another way. The number could have been transferred to another network and/or being used by someone else.

It’s why companies always tell you to keep your login details up-to-date 😊

Thanks,
Alex

If you were on a contract, then as long as your regular monthly payments have been maintained, the number is still live - you could report the SIM lost via CS and they can arrange a replacement to be sent to your billing address.

PAYG is fundamentally, not a contract and does not have monthly bills.

Hi, I got told to ring 150 to verify who I am and apparently the number is okay and I can get it back, will ring later and clarify it I can get it. Thank you everyone. Also social media is kind of difficult to get in contact with, it just sends you to random pages, much prefer a live person to talk to.
