How can I get my number back?

I had an EE number that I used in my business account, I was asked by my employer to transfer the number to them to their corporate account (also EE) then I left my employer about 1 year ago and the number was not ported back. The number has been disconnected for sometime but I would like to get it back. Can someone please help me?

I spoke with a number of people in EE already and I got a new sim to port my old number to, everything but still when I get on the phone they say the number is not available. I understand that the number is recycled or something but thete must be a way to get a number back, they are numbers so this can surely be requested to some technical guy and something manual done to get this number back. I understand this will not be a standard thing to do but please, I'm desperate to get this number back

Thanks for posting.

I understand sometimes a number has a lot of importance, however, once the number has been disconnected completely/recycled there is no way of pulling that specific number.

Come on, the number didn't disappear. I understand it might not be something standard but I'm willing to pay to have it back. I know this can be done but might require some manual stuff. Please can someone engage the right people in ee that can achieve this please?

To add - you mention that you transferred ownership of your number to your employer. At this point, the number was no longer yours and belonged to your employer.

Now that you've left your ex-employer, I don't see you have any legal claim on that number. It makes the practical realities of your request - which are not simple - a moot point.

Not really, I don't think this is a legal battle and that is not what I'm asking

The number is not in use and is disconnected. What I am asking is for that number to be reconnected and allocated to one of my SIM cards. Someone within EE told me they can do a number request of any number that has been disconnected for even a long time as long as the number is not in use and they confirmed this was the case with the number I want...

So this is not a legal battle is just me trying to connect an old number back

You would still need to discuss this with CS directly- either via 150 or 0800 0798586 from another phone.

I tried, seems that there is no department responsible for these situations and I just go around in circles and no one seems able to grab the reins and help me solve this situation.... Really disappointing

I am genuinely curious since I had been struggling with a similar case (with a different carrier) - why has this "someone within EE" you mentioned not helped you if he/she told you "they can do a number request"? Is it due to access limitation this person has within EE? If so why not connect you with someone who does have authority to make that number request?
