Text for sim port saying it will be done by end July…

Hi.. just got the sim from eye. Added pac code and text received saying that it will be done by 6pm on 18/07… which is nearly a month way. Does it normally take that long ?

A PAC is normally actioned the following working day after being submitted.

What was the exact wording of this text message?

Thanks, the port in is all set up and will take place by 6pm on 18-07-2023

Please don't send this PAC request again before the above date and time as it could result in a delay

Is that just the date the PAC expires? The port will be done before then once you activate the SIM.

I sent it through when I requested a sim initially and I was told on the website that I need to send a message with my pac code. And the response text is the one I have provided above thanks

Our customer care team on 150 will be able to confirm what date your port is due to complete.

As mentioned, ports are usually completed the following working day.

I have a similar issue - did a new order online and put in my PAC Code on Saturday. Phone arrived on Monday morning. Popped the SIM in, made a call and sent an SMS, I thought the number would auto port because I had provided the PAC online (I must have imagined this) but number hadn't ported during Tuesday. I tried to do the transfer my number form, but wouldn't accept my PAC code so rang 150 and pressed a few options to get to a human. Apparently they had my number port on the system already but has been set to 18th July 2023 and they had no idea why but couldn't help over the phone so they sent an email to the porting team and I just have to wait now.

No idea why the date set itself to 18th July 2023, waiting now with multiple phones ha, bit irritating but hoping the porting team can sort it and just "do the port".

No worries, I found the post by @MaybeMabel when searching about it!

if it helps - i've just had an outbound sales call to check how I was getting on, and asked me about broadband, from 01438989231. Apparently he could see on my account my number port is all set up to be done tomorrow so... that could be good news. Not heard anything from the porting team but unless he was totally lying... here's hoping!
