I joined EE on a temporary number around a week ago and ported over my old number from O2.

This all went ok or so I thought.

However, I sent someone a text message the other day which they recieved twice.

Once from my temporary EE number and again from the number which I ported over to EE.

How do I switch the temporary number off?

I never want to use it again.

Does this affect all text messages that you send?

What number is presented when you make a call?

I am not really sure if it affects all text messages as I am the sender, nobody said anything before.

It was only yesterday that the person asked if I had 2 phone numbers and showed me both text messages.

I have since sent some other test text messages and the are only appearing once as my new ported over number.

I just done a further test call and this also showed my new ported number.

I am just not sure if this only happens sometimes as my friend showed me both messages from both numbers.

Could you ask the person seeing two numbers to delete your contact information from the phone and set up a new contact with the correct number, and let me know if this still happens when you text them? @Goodbhoy

Thanks Leanne.

The person seeing 2 numbers has me set up as a contact and the message came up as being sent by me.

The second message came up from the temporary number but no details of sender other than the number.

As the message was the same as the earlier message, the person correctly assumed it was from me.

I am going to see how this goes as I have not had any further occurences as far as I am aware.

Perhaps it was just some kind of blip.
