Texts not seen when Sim is in new identical (old style) flip phone

Have put my Sim in a new Doro 2404 from an old Doro 2404. Text messages are not there. How can I get them back in my new phone?

@EEJan Unless you have a backup of that old phone and you restore your new phone from that backup you’ll not see any texts that got received on the old phone.

Thanks, Chris. How do I backup and then restore, bearing in mind it's not Android?

@EEJan Not sure if you can, but you might be able to move the texts to the SD card and then put that card in the new phone. Alternatively THIS might help.

Thanks Chris, but going from bad to worse at the moment. I put the Sim back in its original phone and the Menu doesn't even show Messages. Can't send or receive. Voice calls work fine,

Tried again, but no Messages option on either phone now.
