So you need to 1st port her existing no to another network's PAYG using a PAC from EE & then in reverse port it back to your spare contract. This will also have the effect of cancelling her old contract.

You could alternatively move her old contract to PAYG with 30 days notice & then ask EE to transfer the no to your spare contract.

Hi All,

Can anyone help. I have 3 sims under the same contract, one my own, my daughters (£12/m for 250gb data), and another which we thought was a good idea in 2021, when buying her an iPhone for uni.(this plan unlimited data/text/minutes for £60/m over 24mths). I regret this as we discovered afterwards the plan came with a new sim so every month we have top gift data.

My daughters £12/m contract ended last month and I would now like to cancel this and if possible transfer her number to the other plan which is active for another 6 months.

My only experience of transferring a number many years ago was the mobile company messed up and I lost that number for good.

As it seems all these changes are dome by phone and verbally I wondered if anyone has any tips, such as what is the best time of day to call. It seems EE call centres are in UK and Abroad, will this present a problem if I speak to a call centre abroad?

Any help and advice is welcome.

@barnetman , all call centres are in the UK, so you are fine. You are best speaking with customer service, as there is no account access here. Probably best time is to ring them when they first open up, you should not have to wait more than 20-30 minutes, best to hang up and try again later.

@barnetman wrote:

If you cancel a plan, then the number is released. This is why Xray has posted the workaround method by which you port the number out to another network or an EE PAYG, and then port it back in again.

Thanks for all your replies. It seems counterproductive to have to move providers then port the number back to EE. Why does it take 30 days when transferring from one EE contract to another on the same account?

One big reason I can think of is that other providers are currently still offering free EU roaming. Some are also offering better deals than EE.

One reason for keeping my daughter's contract on my account is that I can monitor and manage it more easily. If it wireman't for this I would possibly not port the number back.

Hi @barnetman,

To move from pay monthly to pay as you go, you need to give 30 days notice to cancel the contract.

I'm afraid it isn't possible to transfer a number from one EE pay monthly plan to another, without following the usual upgrade process.
