Transfer number to EE

I'm trying to transfer my old number, by filling out the form But when I enter my EE number, it shows "Please make sure you enter the right phone number. It must be the UK phone numbrler and start with 07" even though the number I entered is from EE.

Are you entering your temporary EE number?

Does it start with 07 and have eleven numbers in total?

Yes the same error and I am entering the temp number

I have been on hold with EE for 1 hr 30 now and this is urgent

Ah ok, apologies

I did call the team - however answer machine said had lots of calls and couldn't take mine now, then rang off.

Hello, ok understand.

now managed to do. Seems issue was when BT set up transfer of account to EE they also set up the automatic transfer of the number. However, I wasn’t told and was following the instructions on the welcome pack, which didn’t work because, once I had put the sim in the number transferred!!

so my apologies to EE and BT, but equally instructions were incorrect for my situation!
