EE SIM not detected on refurbished iPhone 11

My refurbished phone won’t recognise my EE SIM card. Have tried looking in settings but doesn’t seem to help. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks 😊

@Nic61 have you put the Sim card in the correct way round? It should be contacts down in the sim try and when you put it in the device.

Hi, thanks. The sim only fits one way and that’s with gold contact bit up…

@Nic61 Sorry you’re correct. Not sure what I was thinking there.

Where did you get this device from ?

to see if it’s a unlock device you go to Settings>General>About and scroll down to Network Provider Lock. If it says “No Sim Restrictions” then the device is unlocked to use any network.
